Who said it’s impossible?
“Dry Bones”
Sometimes, what looks impossible… really isn’t. God sees so much more than what’s in front of us. In Ezekiel 37, God tells Ezekiel to prophesy over a valley full of dry bones—to speak life into what’s completely dead. And as he does, the bones start coming together, and breath enters them. Wild, right?
But here’s the part I love—before all that, God asks Ezekiel, “Can these bones live?” And Ezekiel’s response is classic: “O Lord God, only You know.” (Translation: Uh… I don’t know, Lord, but I’m not trying to say no to Your face! LOL.) Maybe he was afraid to believe too much, because what if it didn’t happen? Haven’t we all been there? What if we dream too big? What if we trust God for something huge… and it doesn’t work out?
But here’s the thing—our job isn’t to figure it all out. Our job is to believe—not in our own strength, but in His power working through us. And let’s be honest, sometimes what He asks us to do feels scary. But that’s a good thing! It means it’s bigger than us, and we need Him for it to succeed. And that’s exactly where Ezekiel was—God asked him to speak, and when he did, impossible things happened.
So what about you? What is God asking you to step into? A tough conversation? A bold move? A new job? A simple act of kindness? This charcoal drawing of the valley of dry bones coming together and worshipping God is a reminder that when we trust God and follow His lead, amazing things happen.
KEEP THE CONVO GOING
1. When God asked Ezekiel, “Can these bones live?” how do you relate to his response? Have you ever felt unsure about what God could do in your situation?
2. Ezekiel had to speak before he saw anything happen. Have you ever had to step out in faith before seeing results? What was that like?
3. Obedience can be scary, especially when we don’t see the full picture. What’s something God has asked you to do that felt intimidating or too big? How did you respond?
4. Have you ever ignored a nudge from God to do something? Looking back, what do you think would have happened if you had said yes?
5. What is holding you back from stepping into things God has been nudging you to do recently? 6. What would change in your life if you truly believed that nothing is impossible for God?
